"Ursa Miner @ Ursa Major" 9th Annual Retrospective

Time for the ninth annual retrospective review of the highlights of the year, the seasonal exhibition down at the distillery is happening this first 1st Friday of the new year, January 5th from 3-8pm.

I talked a bit about the usual process, especially for the show poster, in an earlier post (backlink here) - but I didn't put up an actual example. Turns out the initial design was geared great for a strong, narrow vertical print, but a lousy format for any online imagery. Hence the hack horizontal up above, and the multiple strips grouped here to better fit a full column width.

Here's a bonus spot, composition tweaked so as to better accommodate Instagram format. All this to counterbalance the boots-on-the-ground marketing that's already in place.

The centerpiece for the show will again be the tentpole poster "The Lodge," which made its debut last summer at the "Colony" show at Flossie & May's. And finally, I switched to a new vendor (Sticky Brand) for stickers, and am so far very pleased at the product quality. Special note that longtime fans will spot the resurrection of a classic design, "Alaska Yin-Yang," debuting on limited-edition tshirts from 2005 fundraiser for Hurricane Katrina animal rescue efforts. Also a canny eye can suss out another favorite image ever made, also a yin-yang concept, commemorating my own wedding.

PS: Here's another landing page for bookmarked backlinks to the very first one back in 2016, then in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and lastly, 2023.
