Here's better shots of the two cartoons drawn for the Quick Draw gig last weekend. My mad skills in watercolor would make any proficient aficionado's eyeballs bleed, but hey, quick & dirty is my MO. An added bonus that it was intended as a gift to one of the more prominent and accomplished masters of the medium in Fairbanks.
In the (literal) heat of the moment I kinda spaced out snapping a shot of the finished and framed second panel, but here's a scan of a second warm-up version done while timing myself the night before the event (the caption read "Creamer's Field: that wistful, melancholy time of the season when the mosquitoes migrate" - which in turn is a spin off of a 2010 panel):
