It's all downhill from here...
There's actually increasing numbers of these floating about. Personally I have more than enough trouble feeling comfortable on my ass in a canoe, so the idea of standing up doesn't sit well with me.
The first time I saw one of these, quite a few years ago on Casco Bay, among the islands off Portland, ME, they looked really weird. The idea of standing like that seemed awkward and strange. Not only that, it's completely exposed to the public eye. I like being tucked into a kayak, or at least behind the token bulwarks of a canoe. I like having a little ship.
