"Winslow Homer"


One of the preeminent Fine Art poster-boys for Downeast is Winslow Homer: this panel parodies his classic "Breezing Up a Fair Wind" piece. Trivia: instead of the original boat's name (Gloucester) I used Monhegan, which is the focal point of an excellent book on Maine history titled "The Lobster Coast" by Colin Woodard (2004, Viking), which has been turning everything I thought I knew about here upside down.
