I think that I average about one really really good panel per year, and by that I mean so-bad-it's-good, as in, how did I ever make it this far as a cartoonist and miss something so dumb.
Initially I deliberately avoided looking it up on the internet, so as to ensure my self-conviction that I'm a creative genius. Along with the few million others on the planet who had the exact same similar idea. But as I'm frequently fond of pointing out to students (aside from ideas aren't copyrightable) worried about "originality" - nobody's ever done mine before.
