"Where do you get your ideas?" Over the years I've refined my answer for many interviews and simply say "Just get up early." Seriously though, it's that narrow window of opportunity to sit down with a blank sheet of Bristol, open up the sketchbook, or read some research ("You're on the couch reading comics" "Yeah I'm WORKING") when the brain hasn't yet been creatively contaminated with the accumulated detritus of crap caught up in the driftnets of your mind, as they are dragged through all the things screaming for your attention all day long, everywhere you turn. So stay offline as long as possible. Oh, and also seeing as how it is the fount of inspiration, sit still as long as possible.
