"AK Barista" (aka "Frozen Window Face")

This is actually a common occurrence – at least among us who don’t have the luxury of a garage. Many a time I’ve had to back up enough to open the door on the Subie so as to slip out and lean on the window whilst simultaneously thumbing the power switch in order to break the seal of condensed ice.

Unintended hilarity came from accidentally drawing the damn thing backwards, and then after flipping it and finishing it I also forgot to add in a steering wheel. And for the record, it was actually first doodled out while waiting in line one morning at a local coffee hut.

In retrospect I can see a little hint of artist Barry Godber in its lineage – he did the iconic cover of King Crimson’s 1969 album In The Court of the Crimson King. These days I’m much more partial to the holy trinity of a trilogy from their 80’s incarnation, which a mix of is often in heavy rotation at the studio for periods of high-intensity focus, especially the powerhouse instrumentals such as Sartori in Tangier
