"Therapy Dog"

Two versions on this panel: after finishing the original one, I looked back over my virtual shoulder and realized that it not only did it rub right up against another panel done the day before this one (not to imply any Freudian issues with a recurrent poop theme), but it was also maybe a bit too graphic for the sensibilities of the newspaper audience. So on the spur of the moment a judicious edit followed, which (for the viewers keeping score at home) is also based on a true story, but as usual, involved scanning some real dog hair. This being a relatively normal factor, but for once I didn't clean it up in Photoshop.

As a side-note, there are some wonderful folks out there (four-legged and two) who do some great volunteer work with therapy animals - check out you local resources for an organization that might appreciate your support.

Also, the cartoon is also dedicated to one particular person, my previous boss, who was involved in a terrible accident while we were migrating north back to Alaska: this one's for you Lynne. Nomatter how much crap you'll be going through over recovery, glad you made it and here's hoping your sense of humor helps along the way.
