Long-time readers will appreciate the fact that my life is now complete, or at least this is the crowning entry in the Castor canadensis post category. Picture taken in the town of Beaverlodge, located on Highway 43 in Alberta, Canada. The sculpture weighs three thousand pounds and according to the statistics page, was "unveiled" in 2004.
In the meantime, we have successfully made the migration from Maine to Alaska (total travel time ten days of driving + a few layovers in New York + Iowa = approximately 5k miles), and have taken a temporary side-trip to the old digs in Fairbanks to decompress and prep for the final stage of the trip before hitting Anchorage.
While it was a nice break being unplugged, I finally caught up on posting the back, uh, log of comments - thanks everybody for your patience while we flounder about for a bit longer. Looking forward to finally landing somewhere sooner than later, and sharing some spectacular images and many of the miscellaneous adventures experienced along the way - it's been a long, strange trip indeed. Good fodder for future funnies to be sure...
