Join us below the fold for another process post + behind-the-scenes sneak-peeks for the seasonal set of four more "Baked Alaska" cartoons - as appearing in the pages of Alaska Cannabist magazine (support us here - thanks!)
The original doodles illustrate how much reworking the visual elements n a composition can help effectively set the stage better and more efficiently communicate a setting or a scene so as to set up the gag.
Here is the most obvious inspiration for this particular panel: Atticus the Omnipresent Editor, mowing down his munchies.
Next up is the holiday panel, which was rearranged to fit a cover format and featured on the December issue of the Alaska Cannabist magazine.
Elsewhere it has been written about the newfound realization about zombiefied characters like this. Rudy, however, seems destined to star on his own sticker... stay 'tooned!
So no, I didn't forget the eyeballs here, it's a misinterpretation of the expression, and the problem has been rectified. Never too old to learn how to do something better, or see something from a new point of view.
Not trying to be vapid here, but vaping looks suspiciously vaporous and even thinking about it gives me the vapors. Not just talking about popcorn lung here but also the statistical impact and occupational hazards in enduring subarctic winters.
I'm gonna have to be a big tease here and just post this pic from a summer gig which I'll get into details about on the next installment.
And here's the closing panel this time a holiday topic that popped into my head whilst walking through the crowd of dutiful menfolk at the florist (myself however was bound for booze at the liquor store on the other side of the crowd). Everyone take care out there, and thanks for reading.
