"Headlight Out"

A recurring observation up in this neck of the woods: given the fact that most of us in the subarctic don't use the headlights on our vehicles (or flashlights, porch lights etc.) for half the year, what with our midnight sun. And now I think of this particular panel every time I see someone with a burnt-out headlight driving around, which, aside from being such a seasonal thing, one always wonders why they couldn't at least time their life expectancy to simultaneously quit - especially since the other one seems to blow about a couple months later.

Like many inspirations I'll get reminded of the idea over and over again so even if it doesn't get written down or sketched out the thought will keep coming to me until I finally take literal note of it. Which is why you can see the hastily scribbled doodle on the box of one of our favorite local pizza joints. Pro-tip: Even if you forget the omnipresent sketchbook, never leave home without a trusty Sharpie.
