Based on a true story. But hey at least give me credit for pulling over to the side of the road when getting struck with inspiration for this one. Ha ha just kidding there are stretches you don't dare take either hand - nor any eye - off the road, what with the post-apocalyptic condition of the roadway from frost heaves.
Actually every single time you drive down the length of many a road in Interior Alaska it will serve as a trigger for this. In particular I would single out the entire length of Goldstream Road, where several favorite institutions are located (Silver Gulch, Howling Dog Saloon and my old stomping grounds at Ivory Jack's).
