This was directly inspired by the posting of pics of pooches after prickly encounters with porkies, an unfortunate occurrence in our neck of the woods.
Philosophy aside, it's also a poke at one of the many ludicrous and unsubstantiated claims in Traditional Chinese Medicine, responsible for some of the most cruel practices inflicted upon animals and threatening the survival of many endangered species. To be sure, "Big Pharma," ie industrialized Western corporate medicine isn't a damn bit better.
