Monday marks the official rise of 2020's Beaver Moon. In honor of this portentous event we here at Ink & Snow present another pith-y post of puns.

Speaking of the beaver moon, been doodling out a possible new series of imagery about colonizing space.

Hat-tip tail-slap to the vigilant reader who alerted me to the existence of Joe Hall's classic 2006 Canadian anthem. Now my new theme song in the studio.

Thanks also to the folks at Running Reindeer Ranch who have set aside a sampler of some creative juices for me to experiment with next time I need inspiration.

Check out the absolutely delightful work of cartoonist Dan Wheeler: posted above is an excerpted example from his whimsical feature Big Fat Comics (also follow on Facebook here).

Kassik's Beaver Tail Blond beer is actually one of the most enjoyable ales in Alaska by this outstanding Kenai brewery -  though I'm personally more partial to their Roughneck Oatmeal Stout and Dolly Varden Nut Brown on tap.

Bonus Trivia: In 2009 at President Obama's inauguration the Canadian Embassy proudly served a customized variation on their BeaverTail pastry (similar if not the same as Alaskan frybread) which he also stopped by to try at the Byward Market in Ottawa.

One of a recurring series in birthday cards - this time to my sister-in-law in Iowa.

The less that is said about 2011's Green Lantern film the better, but there were a handful of funny moments in an otherwise disaster of an adaptation.

And remember, fellow lodge members, it's always a matter of changing your perspective. So stay skeptical and we'll see you next time for another dam good time.
