I Am/We Are Comics

As a positive counterpoint to the depressing and instructive recent commentary on the stain of sexist intolerance amongst the pages of comicdom comes a refreshing rally which deserves all our mutual support:

"We Are Comics: professionals and fans; creators, publishers, retailers, readers. And we are a hell of a lot more diverse than you might think."

"We Are Comics is a campaign to show—and celebrate—the faces of our community, our industry, and our culture; to promote the visibility of marginalized members of our population; and to stand in solidarity against harassment and abuse."

"The Tumblr is dedicated to showcasing the diversity of the comic community among fans and professionals alike."
The project brings men and women, parents and children, people of color, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, and people from around the world in a show of solidarity. It’s a wonderful and affirming demonstration of the real community behind comics. - via Comics Alliance
