"Minivan" (But I Repeat Myself)

True Story: For the first time ever (to my knowledge, which, as of now, is subject to review) I just completely redrew an already pre-existing panel. As in only a few weeks after doing it the first time I penciled, inked, scanned and digitally shaded the same damn cartoon a second time. See last weekend's post re: Scott Adam's "self-plagiarism," and also cue King Crimson: "I repeat myself when under stress" ("Indiscipline").

Only caught it after uploading it to a web-album for the archives, and it made for quite the mental speed-bump. They're not exactly identical: there's a seasonal variation as one is winter and the other summer, but I don't think it's so funny as to deserve a second run. As of last weekend the winter variation ran in the paper, which after comparing between the two I like slightly better.
*Update: Upon returning to this post years afterwards, there was one of those missing file icons where there used to be the second version. Can't for the life of me locate the original image anymore, but did dig up a watercolor wash variation which I posted instead.

This might be symptomatic of cranking out too much work as of late, or another instance of simply not paying attention. That or just losing my mind from cabin fever... That or just losing my mind from cabin fever...I should get outta the cabin a bit more.
