"Blueberries"

Oompa Loompa doo-pa-dee do / I've got another doodle for you...

The original 1971 version, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, will forever be the gold standard – the reboot being one of the endless stream of useless and derogatory remakes issuing from Hollywood. But the film is based as usual on a book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, by British writer Roald Dahl, who created among other books James and the Giant Peach. And as I discovered at a recent book signing event, there are presumably a fair number of folks who missed the movie reference entirely but still found the panel amusing nevertheless.

Given the simply splendid season of berry picking here in the Interior, while browsing across the tundra it was only natural to imagine Violet Beauregarde morphing into a giant blueberry. And reposted here, in December, with hopes of injecting a smidgeon of color in an otherwise bleak winter scene. That and the forty-odd jars of jelly the Significant Otter has infused the cabin with the scent of season past.
