24-Hour Comics Day Alaska 2012

Grab yer Sharpies folks... here we go again!

2012 will be the sixth year the Interior will participate in 24-Hour Comics Day: once again hosted by The Comic Shop, the event starts at noon Saturday, October 20th and ends at noon on Sunday, October 21st.

In twenty-four consecutive hours individual cartoonists of all ages & ability will attempt to create, from scratch, their own twenty-four page comic. Thousands of artists around the world come together for this challenging and creative outbreak of inspiration and annual insanity (materials not provided, and the participants or host are not responsible for any random weirdness that may occur).

The event is free and open to the public, so folks are welcome to drop by and check out the works-in-progress, offer kind words of encouragement, and maybe even do some drawing of your own! Or delivery of sugary victuals and/or caffeinated beverages is always an appreciated bonus.

Visit the 24-Hour Comics Day site on Facebook or the
Fairbanks event page, and the official website and blog for more details. Stay tuned for more updates here, and here's the recaps from 2010 and 2009 for some backstory on our little community of cartoonists.
