Via Boing Boing: Musician Nick Cave in an interview with the Australian newspaper The Harold Sun on tapping inspiration and the creative work-ethic of successful artists:

Truer words were never spoken, and this was my mantra in both the classroom and the studio. Relatedly, there are nine Muses, none of whom have anything to do with cartooning, or visual art for that matter. And there's this thing sometimes referred to as Writer's Block that applies equally to any creative endeavor.
