Inspirational Words

     Via Boing Boing: Musician Nick Cave in an interview with the Australian newspaper The Harold Sun on tapping inspiration and the creative work-ethic of successful artists:

‘‘Inspiration is a word used by people who aren't really doing anything. I go into my office every day that I'm in Brighton and work. Whether I feel like it or not is irrelevant.''
     Truer words were never spoken, and this was my mantra in both the classroom and the studio. Relatedly, there are nine Muses, none of whom have anything to do with cartooning, or visual art for that matter. And there's this thing sometimes referred to as Writer's Block that applies equally to any creative endeavor.
