Dam Beavers

City officials in Martinez, CA demanded the creator of a commissioned mural to remove the beaver after Mario Alfaro ad-libbed the critter into the panorama's composition. Much as my personal sympathies lie with any beaver, this does unfortunately bring up the difference between doing one's own work versus commissioned pieces, especially ones which have already had the final design approved. There's a special spot in every artist's hell reserved for any Art By Committee. The guy's lucky that they didn't revoke payment claiming he broke the original terms, which would be the usual reaction from aesthetically challenged politicians.
